i find it hard having faith in a world that lacks it and i think needs it. the profession doesnt help that struggle. for me.

I'm not an athiest. I think god is there and that he is watching and he made us. I just don't give a shit. I would personally say that, if i had to make a list of possibles, god would be pretty far down. Agnosticism, that's just immaturity. You only say "who knows" because so many other people believe in it. You're not saying "who knows" because you've seen some studies on it but you're not quite convinced. There's zero proof the other way. And yet you're letting them off the hook only because there are a lot of them. Well, there are a lot of rapists but you wouldn't say "maybe they have a point" just because there's lots of them. Make your own decisions. Grow up. You know the answer.

I get asked about my atheism all the time. I don't know why it's so fascinating to people. But I am always honest and open about it. Not to change anyone's beliefs, but to let people know around the world who are oppressed and ashamed about not having faith that there is nothing wrong with it.

I always go back to something Ram Dass teaches "We work on ourselves so we can help the people closest to us." I've gone through various phases of trying to "save" my friends and my attempts have at the very least been annoying and at the worst created temporary rifts. People really feel it when you've gotten to the place where you can actually listen to them without wanting to change them and paradoxically that seems to be the space that folks transform within.

I was about to interview him at the Open Your Heart In Paradise retreat in Hawaii in front of the entire retreat. We were back stage and he looked up at me and smiled and I said "I'm so nervous!!!" and he said "Me too!!!!!!!" and we laughed and it was just the best. I miss him so much!

Sometimes I just really believe in the project - and want to play the character - but I believe that making great stories and entertainment is a very valuable service.
